The main route into Cornwall from Exeter is the A30. If travelling via Plymouth then you travel along the A38.
Directions from Exeter (M5)
1. | Head southwest along the M5 | |
2. | At junction 31, exit onto A30 toward Bodmin/ | (67m) |
3. | Stay on the A30 until just before you reach the Innis Downs roundabout then take the left hand exit onto the A391 (signposted St Austell). | |
4. | Continue to follow St. Austell signs through Lockengate on the A391 until you reach the village of Bugle when you turn left at the traffic lights. | (3m) |
5. | On entering St. Austell you travel down hill and around a series of roundabouts. St Austell Bay is visible in front of you. | (1.5m) |
6. | Turn right at the traffic lights at the bottom of the hill onto Holmbush Road. | |
7. | Drive along the A390 and go straight ahead thought two sets of traffic lights. When you reach a large roundabout take the second exit onto Polmear Road - signposted A390 Truro. | (1.5m) |
8. | Take the first left into Porthpean Road (lookout for the signs 'Porthpean Golf Club', 'Hospital Minor Injuries Unit'). | |
9. | Continue along Porthpean Road for approximately one mile until you reach a left hand turning with a sign for 'Porthpean Golf Cottages'. Take this road and follow it until you arrive at the small Church located in Higher Porthpean. | (1.1 m) |
10. | Turn right into the courtyard where cars are parked. The Old School House is located in the square, you will see the gated parking area. |

Train
St Austell has a mainline train station with regular direct trains to and from London Paddington. The Night Riviera Sleeper Service is also available. There is a taxi rank at the train station and we are located approximately 10 minutes from the station by car. The Train Line - Times & Bookings.
